The US has come forward to defend the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is under attack from Yemen's pro-Iranian Houthi rebels. The US has announced that it will deploy its most dangerous F-22 fighter jet and a guided missile destroyer around the UAE. America's warship USS Cole will patrol the sea around the Gulf country.
The Central Command of the US Army said in a statement on Tuesday, 'We understand that this is a friend's help to another friend in time of crisis.' US Army Central Command Commander Kenneth M McKenzie is currently on an official visit to the UAE. He said that the deployment of fighter jets and warships is to strengthen the UAE's air defense system. The UAE is currently facing missile and drone attacks by Houthi rebels.
Drones will destroy planes before they take off
The US general said that the US is working with its allies to find an "effective solution" to destroy enemy drones before they take off. Such a system would capture the launch of drones, observe them and disrupt their flight. He said that if you can't do that then you will definitely be in a position that the drones destroy the planes in their path.
The F-22 is one of the most dangerous planes in the world
The F-22 Raptor is a fifth generation fighter aircraft. It is also counted among the most advanced fighter aircraft in the world. The F-22 Raptor is manufactured by American company Lockheed Martin. The F-22 was inducted into the US Air Force on 15 December 2005. The US has so far made 195 units of the F-22, out of which 8 aircraft have been kept for testing. The remaining 187 F-22 Raptors are operational in the US Air Force. This aircraft is equipped with such dangerous technology that America has not sold it to any other country.
