Israel has once again carried out air strikes against Syria on Wednesday morning. The Israeli army has confirmed the attack. The army said that the attack was a response to the Syrian anti-aircraft missile attack on northern Israel late Tuesday. Syria denies missile attack.
Syrian radar and anti-aircraft batteries targeted
On Wednesday, Syrian state TV channels reported an attack on the capital Damascus (Damascus) by the Israeli army, saying that one soldier was killed and five wounded in the attack. When asked questions about this report, an Israeli army spokesperson confirmed the attack.
The spokesperson said the attack was carried out in response to the Syrian side fired anti-aircraft missiles at Israel at night. This missile exploded in the sky over Northern Israel (disputed area of the West Bank). Due to this missile attack, there was a stampede throughout Northern Israel with the sound of rocket warning sirens. "We have only hit surface-to-air missile targets of the Syrian military, including their radar and anti-aircraft missile batteries," he said.
Syria Claims - Dozens of Israeli Missiles Stopped
According to Syria's state news agency SANA, the Israel Defense Force (IDF) twice fired at least a dozen missiles at Damascus. During this, Syria activated its air defense system and destroyed Israel's missiles before reaching the city.
According to SANA, Israel launched missile attacks on Damascus from the occupied Golan Heights. After this, Israel also tried to conduct air strikes on Damascus with fighter jets on Wednesday morning.
