In 1870, Edward VII testified in a divorce case and 7 years later became a witness in a lawsuit over slander over card games. He also gave his testimony before becoming king.

Harry has been in the headlines for many days
Harry, who is the fifth incumbent of the throne, has been in the headlines for the last six months. Sometimes over his legal disputes with the British press, sometimes about his documentary series on Netflix, in which he accused his senior royal members of colluding with tabloid newspapers. Now his court appearance has caught the attention of the world.

The trial, which began last month, accuses MGN journalists or private investigators hired by them of massive phone hacking, in which case journalists and private investigators were asked to use other unlawful tactics to obtain information about Prince and other claimants. David Sherborne, a lawyer for the claimants, said the work was done with the knowledge of senior editors and officials. MGN has denied all these allegations and said that if anything wrong has happened, it has been done by hiding them.

Harry's biographer and journalist told the court that one of those who knew about the hacking was former editor Piers Morgan, who is now a high-profile broadcaster. Morgan has been a vocal critic of the Prince and his wife Meghan. At the same time, Morgan has denied involvement in any kind of illegal behavior. On the contrary, he has accused Prince of violating the privacy of his family. Morgan resigned from a TV breakfast show as a presenter after making a vocal comment about Meghan. Harry also accused the royal family of being involved in this conspiracy.

At the start of the trial, MGN's current owner Reich apologized in court documents and admitted that on one occasion Sunday People had illegally collected information about Harry, for which he was entitled to compensation. MGN has denied other allegations against him, arguing that he had received some information from royal aides.

MGN documents also reveal that a story about Harry emerged when his father's former deputy private secretary and Morgan sat down and ate and drank together every day. Harry says his family and his colleagues leaked negative stories about him to save his reputation. There was no statement from the palace about this.
